BALJEET HEYER, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker #113827

For the past nine years, I’ve had the privilege to work with kids, teens, parents, and families in public schools, residential treatment centers, and nonprofit agencies.
My clinical focus with adults is in navigating the complexities of grief, dealing with the aftermath of trauma, or struggling with anxiety that interferes with daily life. Through meaningful therapeutic sessions we collaboratively manage symptoms, cultivate resilience, and foster a sense of empowerment.
I support young people with self-awareness, impulse control, and mutual respect of boundaries. I believe sessions that feel enjoyable and safe are essential to effective treatment, rather than a mundane or judgmental space which can damper the therapeutic alliance. I aid in building effective social skills for children struggling with isolation, oppositional behavior, bullying, unfulfilling friendships, or inattentiveness. Counseling empowers kids to develop the necessary skills to build and maintain healthy relationships and navigate tough situations. These skills contribute to social development and emotional wellness, setting a foundation for present and future success. Therapy can be incredibly powerful and life-changing. Some of the most impactful transformations occur when parents are collaborators in the process, by being open to support wellness or family counseling as needed.
In a secure and empathic environment and I integrate evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and Play Therapy. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from University of Southern California (USC), along with certifications in Traumatic Stress Studies and EMDR.
